A group of PhDs from across the University of Strathclyde participated in our Project Management in the Real World 2-day flagship course. PMRW is part of the CAPM suite of courses leading to professional PM Certification by the Project Management Institute.
The PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) route is extremely popular with staff and researchers alike.
PMRW is an especially successful course on this route, as further evidenced by the 4.80 out of 5 (5 being Excellent) rating given by Strathclyde participants. Day 2 is particularly applied, and focuses on planning a full project lifecycle and reacting to changes throughout the day. This approach supports further embedding of learning, and ensures lots of experience using the tools & techniques learned in the first day.
The hands-on nature is reflected in some of the course comments:
- “I’ve learnt how to deliver any type of project with managed scope within cost and time.”
- [I’ve worked through a] “Project example and know how to solve real things.”
- [The course was underpinned by a] “Good project example and [allowed] good experience on it planning leveling.”
