A Director’s Reflections on 21 years in business…Part 4

Wednesday 3rd October 2012 marked Fistral’s 21st anniversary.

This article by Paul Lyden is a personal account that tells the story of the company to date.

The fourth and final section of the article below covers the following:

  • Fistral into the next 21 Years
  • Happy 21st Birthday Fistral!

Fistral into the next 21 Years

With Fraser at the helm the future of Fistral is in safe hands. Paul’s instincts regarding Fraser’s capabilities and potential during the early years of Fistral, have been proven correct and he is more than happy with the partnership, friendship and directorship that has grown during the past 21 years.

And in addition to his PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, Fraser has embarked on his doctoral research entitled “An investigation into the factors that influence an individual participant’s assessment of project management training”. As such, Fistral will continue to be at the forefront of research and professional development linked to project management and training.

All of this combined with ongoing consultancy, means that Paul is confident that the course content, insights and examples will continue to be based on real-life expertise and useful to our customers for many years to come.

Despite the current global economic climate Fistral is thriving in terms of both customer and trainee satisfaction. The current course average for 2012 to date is higher than last year, at 4.7 out of 5 (5 being excellent); and based on this and course/customer feedback, the team continues to deliver what is needed and wanted by organisations.

Fraser believes that by focusing on a number of tried and trusted techniques, Fistral courses strip away a lot of the ‘white noise’ that surrounds projects and project management in general – and therein communication, leadership and team working – to get to the heart of the issues that make or break projects.

And, most importantly, Paul, Fraser and the team don’t just talk about these – they are implementing them in every project Fistral is involved with; so know they work! This is what Fistral brings to our training courses, and something that the team will continue to being and expand on into the future… tried, tested and trusted real life.

Future plans for the business and courses are positive, with the focus on keeping the customer happy and providing outstanding training and consultancy.

Happy 21st Birthday Fistral!

To conclude, Paul would like to thank family, friends and colleagues for their ongoing support and friendship over the twenty-one happy and successful years business; and he wishes all involved in Fistral a happy 21st, with many more years to come!
