At the start of March the Fistral team delivered two sessions on Controlling Your PhD:
- Part One: Introduction to Project Management
- Part Two: Successful Ways to Organise and Present Yourself
Aimed at postgraduate researchers Years 2 and above, these two 1-day sessions introduced the process of managing PhD projects and the tools to assist in planning and controlling the work; as well as provided techniques that will make the personal research journey easier and an understanding of how to better self-manage.
Feedback was very positive, with one participant in particular commenting that they:
- “Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, found the presenter/trainer engaging and helpful. Definitely recommend to other students. Also transferable to my ‘real life’ role.”
Hopefully our ‘Kick-Off Your PhD’ sessions in a few weeks – aimed at PhD candidates in Year 1 – will be equally well received!
